Special Needs Cobb and the North Georgia State Fair

North Geor­gia State Fair awards $655,000 in com­munity grants, schol­ar­ships, local invest­ments

The North Geor­gia State Fair recently cel­eb­rated its third annual Super­ior Plumb­ing Presents North Geor­gia State Fair Schol­ar­ship & Grant Awards Din­ner with an ded­ic­ated to recog­niz­ing stu­dent achieve­ment, sup­port­ing non­profit organ­iz­a­tions and invest­ing in the future of Cobb County.

A total of $655,000 was awar­ded and pledged dur­ing the even­ing.

The North Geor­gia State Fair Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram recog­nized 10 excep­tional high school seni­ors who have demon­strated aca­demic excel­lence, lead­er­ship, and a com­mit­ment to com­munity ser­vice:

♦ 2026 $5,000 Schol­ar­ship recip­i­ents are Abi­gail Amos, Jonathan Baker, Kath­er­ine (Katie Rose) Cole­man, McKayla Davis, Jada Emen­alo, Olivia Hath­cock, Karma Kil­foyle, Kaitlyn Ku, Sam­antha Kay­ley Lewis and Robert War­ren.

In addi­tion to stu­dent schol­ar­ships, the North Geor­gia State Fair awar­ded grants to non­profit organ­iz­a­tions that provide vital ser­vices and sup­port throughout Cobb County.

♦ $15,000 Grant recip­i­ents are Circles Cobb, Cobb Christ­mas Inc., Cobb Col­lab­or­at­ive, Cobb Journ­al­ism Fund, Cobb Sher­iff’s Found­a­tion, The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, HEAL Atlanta, Lov­ing Arms Can­cer Out­reach, Mari­etta Fire­fight­ers Sup­port Fund, MDE School, Miss Cobb County Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram, MUST Min­is­tries, Simple Needs GA, Spe­cial Needs Cobb and 10 Women of Hope.

♦ $20,000 Grant recip­i­ents are The Cen­ter for Fam­ily Resources, Way­mark Foster and The Dave Krache Found­a­tion.

♦ $35,000 Grant recip­i­ents are LiveSafe Resources and The Exten­sion Inc.

♦ A $50,000 match­ing grant was also pledged to the Cobb Schools Found­a­tion.

♦ Finally, $200,000 was donated to Cobb County Gov­ern­ment, and alloc­ated for improve­ments at Jim R. Miller Park.

The even­ing was once again hos­ted by Ike Reighard of Pied­mont Church, whose lead­er­ship and enthu­si­asm helped make the cel­eb­ra­tion a mem­or­able occa­sion.

The North Geor­gia State Fair extends its sin­cere appre­ci­ation to present­ing spon­sor Super­ior Plumb­ing, part­ners Drew Expos­i­tion, the schol­ar­ship and grant selec­tion com­mit­tees, volun­teers, spon­sors and fair­go­ers whose sup­port makes these con­tri­bu­tions pos­sible.

Through schol­ar­ships, char­it­able grants and com­munity invest­ments, the North Geor­gia State Fair con­tin­ues its mis­sion of strength­en­ing Cobb County and help­ing build a brighter future for gen­er­a­tions to come.

Organ­iz­a­tions inter­ested in being con­sidered for the 2027 North Geor­gia State Fair Com­munity Grant Pro­gram may down­load an applic­a­tion from www.northgeor­giastate­fair.com. Com­pleted applic­a­tions must be sub­mit­ted to giv­ing@northgeor­giastate­fair.com no later than Dec. 31, 2026.

Applic­a­tions for the 2027 North Geor­gia State Fair Schol­ar­ship Pro­gram will be avail­able begin­ning Jan. 1, 2027, on the Fair’s web­site.

The 2026 Super­ior Plumb­ing Presents North Geor­gia State Fair will take place Sept. 24 to Oct. 4, 2026, at Jim R. Miller Park in Mari­etta, fea­tur­ing this year’s theme, “Fair Nights Under Stars and Stripes.”
