Special Needs Cobb
“Our son Phillip has resided in a group home for several years. He’s happy, and it’s home to him! It’s where he loves to be. Three of his best friends live at the home too, and they are family. Phillip is safe and healthy. He’s close by, so we see him a lot, and we’re blessed that he has a great life!”
– Kay Hiott, special needs parent
When your adult child is ready for the next step, whom do you trust to provide a safe, secure home that will mirror the loving, supportive environment you’ve given all these years?
Special Needs Cobb operates 24 facilities (22 Group Homes and 1 Respite Home in Cobb; 1 Group Home in Bartow County). We provide year-round, supervised residence for up to 92 adults with developmental disabilities. InCommunity, Georgia’s largest Medicaid provider, manages 14 of our 23 homes. The remaining nine (9) homes are managed by Jewish Family and Career Services (JFCS), United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), and Walton Community Services.
We provide loving care in affordable, accessible group home settings that give our residents the chance to experience greater independence and self-determination. Our homes are attractively appointed, with ADA-approved accessibility features such as wide halls and doorways, roll-in showers and reduced-height countertops. Our group homes enable people with physical and mental disabilities to live as barrier-free as possible. Since being involved in group-home work, we’ve received a 100% pass rate on all completed HUD housing inspections.
Any special needs adult with an IQ of 70 or less, a diagnosed developmental disability, and an approved Georgia Medicaid COMP Waiver with an approved Community Residential Alternative (CRA) from the State of Georgia can live in our groups homes either in Cobb or Bartow Counties.
